1. Definitions
- "We", "us", "our", "Get Lucky Golf Club" or "GLG" refers to the operator of this website, the Hole-in-One Membership programme and the underlying Hole-in-One Challenge.
- "Metropolitan" refers to Metropolitan Golf Club, the presenting partner club of this Membership.
- "Indwe" refers to Indwe Risk Services, the insurance partner which underwrites the prize.
- "You", "your" or "Member" means the individual who has activated a Hole-in-One Membership.
- "Membership" means the recurring monthly subscription that entitles you to participate in the Hole-in-One Challenge on the terms set out in this document.
- "Membership Fee" means the recurring subscription charge of R149 per month (inclusive of VAT where applicable), billed monthly in advance via Payfast.
- "Partner Club" means any golf club at which GLG has designated a Challenge Hole. The current list of Partner Clubs is published on the Membership website and may be updated from time to time.
- "Challenge Hole" means the specific par-3 at a Partner Club designated by GLG as an official Get Lucky Hole-in-One Challenge hole.
- "Prize" means the R100,000 cash prize payable to a Member who achieves a verified hole-in-one on a Challenge Hole while their Membership is active.
- "Personal Information" means any information relating to an identifiable person, including name, contact details, ID number, payment details, photographic and/or video footage, and email address.
- "POPIA" refers to the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (South Africa).
2. Membership and Subscription
- Membership is open to adult amateur golfers aged 18 years or older who are legally resident in South Africa.
- Registered PGA professionals and golf-club touring or teaching professionals are not eligible for Membership.
- To activate a Membership, you must complete the online registration form (full name, email address, mobile number, home club, and optional handicap) and successfully complete the recurring payment set-up with Payfast.
- Membership is personal to you and is non-transferable. You may not share, assign, sell or otherwise transfer your Membership, and any hole-in-one must be struck by the registered Member in person.
- Membership becomes active upon successful processing of the first Membership Fee. You must have an active, paid-up Membership at the moment the ball is struck in order to be eligible for the Prize.
3. Billing, Renewal and Cancellation
- The Membership Fee is R149 per month and is billed monthly in advance via Payfast, starting on the date your Membership is activated.
- Your Membership renews automatically each month until cancelled. There is no fixed-term contract and no lock-in period.
- You may cancel your Membership at any time via the Payfast recurring-billing portal or by emailing sales@getluckygolfclub.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing month. You will continue to enjoy all Member benefits (including eligibility for the Prize) until the end of that paid month.
- Membership Fees already paid are non-refundable, save where refund is required by the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 or other applicable law.
- If a Membership Fee payment fails or is reversed, your Membership will be suspended and you will not be eligible for the Prize until payment is successfully restored. GLG may terminate a Membership that remains in arrears for more than 14 days.
- Card details are processed and tokenised by Payfast using 256-bit encryption and are never stored by GLG or Metropolitan.
- GLG may revise the Membership Fee on not less than 30 days' written notice (by email to your registered address). If you do not wish to accept a new Fee, you may cancel your Membership before it takes effect.
4. Member Benefits
- Unlimited attempts on the designated Challenge Hole at any Partner Club, for as long as your Membership is active. There are no check-ins, on-course forms or separate per-round entry fees.
- Eligibility for the R100,000 cash Prize for every verified hole-in-one struck on a Challenge Hole while your Membership is active.
- A professionally edited HD video of a verified hole-in-one, captured by the discreet on-course cameras installed at each Challenge Hole.
- The signature Get Lucky golden bag tag, delivered to your registered address within a reasonable period after activation. GLG is not liable for delays caused by courier services or incorrect address details.
- Access to member-only events, invitation-only experiences and partner privileges offered by GLG, Metropolitan and their sponsors from time to time. Such benefits may be added, varied or withdrawn.
- 5% of every Membership Fee collected is contributed to the Course Caddy Fund, which supports caddies at Partner Clubs. This contribution is made on your behalf and is not refundable.
5. Rules of Play
- Your Membership must be active and paid up at the moment the ball is struck.
- The hole-in-one must be achieved on an officially designated Challenge Hole at a Partner Club, during an 18-hole round of golf played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as published by The R&A and the USGA.
- You must play from the same colour tee box used by your group for the round in question, and from the official Challenge tee marker where one has been placed.
- Where fewer than four Members are in a four-ball, the participating Member(s) must tee off first on the Challenge Hole so that the shot is captured cleanly by the on-course cameras.
- Only one ball may be played at the Challenge Hole; practice balls, provisional balls or mulligans do not qualify.
- The hole-in-one must be witnessed by at least one other adult playing partner in your group, who must be prepared to confirm the shot in writing if requested.
- You must report the hole-in-one to GLG within 24 hours of the round, using the contact details provided on the Membership website, and must not leave the Partner Club before notifying the pro shop or starter of the claim.
- No persons under the age of 18 years may participate.
- No registered PGA or club professional, nor any person employed by GLG, Metropolitan or Indwe (or their immediate families), may participate in the Challenge.
- Holes-in-one struck at corporate days, charity days, club competitions or other events where the Challenge Hole has been expressly excluded will not qualify.
- You must comply with the local rules, dress code and conduct requirements of the Partner Club at which you are playing. GLG is not responsible for Partner Club access, tee-time availability or green fees, which remain your own responsibility.
- By activating and maintaining a Membership, you accept and agree to be bound by these Rules of Play.
6. Prize Verification and Payment
- All prize claims are subject to verification by GLG and, where applicable, by Indwe as prize underwriter.
- The Prize will be paid out only if all Rules of Play have been followed and the hole-in-one is verified by the on-course camera footage, witness confirmation, and any other evidence reasonably required by GLG or Indwe.
- If the camera footage is inconclusive, contradicts the claim, or reveals any breach of these Terms or the Rules of Play, GLG reserves the right to refuse payment of the Prize.
- Verified prize money will be paid by electronic funds transfer to the Member's nominated South African bank account within 15 working days of final verification. The Member is responsible for providing accurate banking details and for any tax obligations arising from the Prize.
- Only one Prize may be claimed per Member per calendar day, irrespective of the number of holes-in-one struck.
- The Prize is not transferable and no cash alternative or substitution is available other than the R100,000 cash amount stated.
7. Acceptance of Terms
By activating a Membership (including by completing the online registration form, ticking the Terms & Conditions box, and setting up recurring payment through Payfast), you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions, the Rules of Play, the POPIA Privacy Notice and the Privacy Policy, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
8. Collection, Use and Processing of Personal Information
8.1 Lawful Basis
We process Personal Information on the basis of your consent, the performance of your Membership contract, our legal obligations, and our legitimate interests (including fraud prevention, verification, and insurance administration).
8.2 Information Collected
- Name and surname
- Contact details (mobile number and email address)
- Home club and (optional) handicap
- Identity number, where required for prize payment, tax reporting or insurance verification
- Payment details, processed by Payfast as a secure third-party provider
- Photographic and/or video footage captured by on-course cameras at Challenge Holes, for verification and Member-benefit purposes
- Any other information reasonably required to administer your Membership or validate a prize claim
8.3 Purpose of Processing
Your Personal Information may be used for:
- Activating, administering, renewing and cancelling your Membership
- Validating entries and verifying hole-in-one claims
- Contacting you about your Membership, billing or a prize claim
- Processing and paying prize money and fulfilling Member benefits (e.g. posting the golden bag tag)
- Fraud detection, insurance validation and regulatory compliance
- Accounting, record-keeping, audit and legal obligations
- Internal analysis, in aggregated or anonymised form
- Marketing and promotions — we may use your contact details to send you information about Get Lucky and Metropolitan events, promotions and offers, as well as those of our official sponsors and partners, where you have consented to such communications.
8.4 Disclosure to Third Parties
We may share your Personal Information with:
- Payment processors and financial institutions (including Payfast)
- Auditors, insurers and legal advisors (including Indwe)
- Partner Clubs (including Metropolitan Golf Club) to the extent necessary to administer the Challenge on course
- Regulatory authorities where required by law
- Service providers assisting with Membership operations, delivery and verification
- Official sponsors and partners, who may contact you directly with marketing related to their products, services, promotions or events. Such partners are contractually bound to comply with POPIA and may only use your information for the agreed purposes.
8.5 Retention
We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or to meet our legal obligations, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymised.
8.6 Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your Personal Information against loss, theft or unauthorised access. Payment information is handled by Payfast under bank-grade encryption and is never stored on our systems.
9. Your Rights Under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Request access to the Personal Information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or outdated information.
- Object to, or restrict, processing in certain circumstances.
- Withdraw consent at any time (noting that this may limit your ability to participate in the Challenge or maintain a Membership).
- Opt out of marketing at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any communication or by contacting us directly.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
10. Disclaimer, Liability and Indemnity
- The Hole-in-One Membership and Challenge are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. GLG, Metropolitan and Indwe do not warrant uninterrupted operation of the website, camera systems or Challenge Hole availability.
- GLG, Metropolitan and Indwe are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from or in connection with your Membership or participation in the Challenge, save to the extent required by law.
- You participate in the Challenge at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety and conduct on course, compliance with Partner Club rules, and payment of green fees.
- You agree to indemnify and hold GLG, Metropolitan, Indwe and their respective officers, employees, sponsors and partners harmless against any claim arising from your participation, your breach of these Terms, or any misrepresentation in your Membership application or prize claim.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, the Membership or the Challenge shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
12. Amendments
We may update these Terms & Conditions and the POPIA Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be notified to Members by email and/or by prominent notice on the Membership website. Your continued Membership after the effective date of any update will constitute your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Protection of Personal Information (POPIA Notice)
By activating a Hole-in-One Membership with Get Lucky Golf Club ("GLG") in partnership with Metropolitan Golf Club, and by participating in any related competition, challenge, promotion or experience — whether via the Membership website, digital entry form, WhatsApp interface, or any other related platform — you acknowledge and expressly consent to the collection, processing, storage and use of your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").
This includes, but is not limited to, your:
- Name and surname
- Contact details (including email address and mobile number)
- Home club affiliation and handicap (if provided)
- Payment and billing information processed through Payfast
- Video, image or audio content captured as part of a hole-in-one attempt or claim
- Any other information reasonably required to administer the Membership, the Challenge or related promotions
You acknowledge and agree that:
- GLG may process your personal information for the purposes of administering the Membership and Challenge, verifying entries and claims, awarding and paying prizes, marketing, analytics and regulatory compliance;
- GLG may share your personal information with its sponsors, partners and service providers (including Metropolitan Golf Club, Indwe Risk Services and Payfast), solely for purposes related to the Membership, the Challenge, prize fulfilment, insurance validation, payment processing, marketing and lead follow-up, and only to the extent reasonably necessary;
- Such sponsors and partners will process your personal information in accordance with POPIA and applicable data protection laws;
- You may withdraw your consent at any time by written notice to GLG; however, withdrawal of consent may result in cancellation of your Membership, disqualification from the Challenge, or inability to participate further;
- GLG will take reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
